Alex Bugden P. Geo. - Principal Geologist

Principal Geologist Alex Bugden, P. Geo. is a Graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland - Bachelor of Science (Honors): Earth Sciences, and is Licensed to practice geoscience under the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL).

Alex has both worked and held executive positions in both the private and public sectors. Alex has been involved in mineral and offshore oil exploration across Canada for the past seven years. Alex has a strong background in field operations and a track record for successfully completed exploration field and drilling programs. Alex has completed projects for over two dozen of public and private junior exploration companies and covering several commodities.

Alex has extensive experience in ophiolitic VMS deposits, orogenic gold deposits, and LCT Pegmatites covering Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Ontario. Alex currently holds several executive positions in the public and private sectors including serving as CEO of Sorrento Resources Ltd. a publicly traded company on the Canadian Securities Exchange and serves as a technical advisor for a number of publicly traded Jr exploration companies.

Amara Ells P. Geo. - Project Geologist

Amara Ells BSc. P. Geo. is Bugden Exploration’s lead project geologist. Amara is a Graduate of Saint Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Geology and holds a license to practice Professional Geoscientists under the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Nova Scotia (APGNS). Amara is an experienced exploration geologist with a strong focus on project Environmental, Safety, and Social Governance (ESG) aspects.

Amara has broad experience with the successful planning, execution , and management of exploration fieldwork, including extensive experience with diamond drilling and reverse circulation drilling programs. Amara has a strong background working with large scale greenfield exploration teams and on deposit level advanced exploration programs. Amara also manages project technical reporting and mineral claim “good standing” maintenance for Bugden . 

Amara has considerable experience with orogenic and epithermal Gold deposits, and polymetallic volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) deposits within the Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia Appalachian belt of rocks.

Amara is an active outdoor enthusiast originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia has found a new home away from home in Newfoundland and Labrador with the Bugden exploration team.

Kurt Sheppard BSc.- Geotechnical Field Team Lead

Kurt Sheppard Leads the geotechnical field team at Bugden Exploration Inc. Kurt holds a degree in Environmental Science from Memorial University of NL and has a lifetime of experience in the remote backcountry of Newfoundland and Labrador.

While growing up in York Harbor Newfoundland Kurt has spent his youth as a hunting & fishing guide, hiking, camping and enjoying the outdoors.

Kurt has extensive experience with exploration field work including, QA/QC management, environmental plans, and monitoring, mineral prospecting, till sampling, soil sampling programs, drill core processing including handling, cutting, sampling, geotechnical logging.
